Daddy's Job
Tiel and Claude were quizzing Nia on all the basics--where do we live? what is our address? etc., when Claude asked her, "What is Daddy's job?" And Nia replied, without missing a beat, "Cleaning."

Nia's Christmas Story
Here is an email I got from Tiel this morning:
Remembering how much I liked to play with Grandma's nativity set, I bought Nini a Precious Moments set from Aldis yesterday. I sat down with her and tried to simply explain Christmas and Jesus' birthday using the songs that she knows (Silent Night, We Three Kings, etc.). At first she couldn't get past the fact that she thought it was HER birthday on Christmas and that she was getting the presents. Then when I told her that Jesus was all grown up and lived up in heaven in the clouds, she told me that Santa could fly up and see Him. Then I overheard her playing with the nativity as if it were The Wizard of Oz. She had the angel be the "Good Witch", Mary, Joseph, and two of the kings were Dorothy and crew, and baby Jesus was Toto....I just shook my head....I think we need to keep working on this!

Nia Nia Sopapilla
I don't have any new pictures of Ni-Ni, though we did spend July 4th over there for a couple of hours. She is knee deep in potty training (no pun intended). At one point she was sitting on her little potty with a book trying to do her business, and the next moment she was running around with her pull up around her tiny ankles making crazy faces at all of us. She's definitely TWO! :) Basically Nia jumps everywhere she goes and makes a jumping game out of everything. She is going to be a competitor, just like her mom and dad!
